This scroll bar has a tab which moves up or down as you use the scroll keys to move through the menus. • ANTENNA Your phone has a built-in antenna. As with any other radio transmitting device, do not touch the antenna unnecessarily when the phone is switched on. Hold the phone as you would any other telephone with the antenna pointed up and over your shoulder. About your phone Scroll bar • REMOVE AND INSTALL THE BATTERY This phone can be powered by a 900-mAh NiMH battery (BMC-3) or a 950-mAh Li-Ion battery (BLC-2). This section tells you how to remove and install the battery. You will need to remove the battery when replacing it, or to view the phone label (located under the battery). Remove the battery If you purchase a new battery or need to access information on the phone label, you may need to remove the battery. Make sure the phone is turned off for 10 seconds. Note: Dispose of batteries according to applicable local regulations (for example, recycling). Do not dispose as household waste. 1 Hold the phone with the back facing you. At the bottom corners of the phone, press the battery cover with your thumb and forefinger. 2 Place the thumb of your other hand in the groove, approximately 1 inch from the top of the phone. Apply pressure with the thumb and slide the back cover toward you to release it; then remove it. Bottom of phone 5 Copyright © Nokia 2003
