Noise reduction When shooting in dark places, shutter speeds become slower as there is less light focused on the CCD. During long exposures, signals are generated by parts of the CCD where no light is focused and are recorded on the image as noise. When [NOISE REDUCTION] is set to [ON], the camera automatically reduces the noise to produce clearer images. ON OFF Additional shooting functions Noise is reduced. However, shooting time is approximately twice as long as usual. During this time, the next shot cannot be taken. Also, the picture is larger than normal. Use the monitor to view what you are taking. • When [NOISE REDUCTION] is set to [ON], sequential shooting and two-in-one pictures are not possible. • This function may not work effectively with some shooting conditions or subjects. 59
