Troubleshooting Symptom Voice files are not recorded in stereo Probable cause The connected external microphone is monaural. [Rec Mode] is set to a monaural recording mode. Action When recording while an external monaural microphone is connected, sound will only be recorded by the L-channel. Set [Rec Mode] to the stereo recording mode (☞ P.51). [Zoom Mic] is set to the + side. Set [Zoom Mic] to [Off] (☞ P.52). Cannot find the recorded Voice File Wrong folder. Switch to the correct folder (☞ P.27 to P.29). The recorder was shaken during recording. --- Noise heard during playback The recorder was placed near a cell phone or fluorescent lamp while recording or during playback. Move the recorder. The settings of the connected external microphone do not correspond to those of the recorder. When a microphone not supported by the plug-in power function is connected, turn the [Plug-inPower] setting to [Off] (☞ P.56). 6 Unable to hear any sound from the earphone through the [Rec Monitor] is set to [Off]. recording monitor Set [Rec Monitor] to [On] (☞ P.55). Unable to erase the file Unable to erase the folders The file is locked. The file is read-only. There is a file which cannot be recognized by the recorder in the folder. Noise is audible through the recording Acoustic feedback is occurring. monitor EN Unlock the file (☞ P.50). Unlock the file or cancel the read-only setting of the file on the PC. Connect the recorder to your PC and erase a folder (☞ P.87). When the built-in speaker amps and the like are connected there is a risk that audio feedback will occur while recording. It is recommended that you use earphones for the recording monitor, or turn the [Rec Monitor] to [Off] while recording (☞ P.55). Perform adjustments, such as further distancing the earphones from the microphones, not pointing the microphones at the earphones, or lowering the volume of the recording monitor. 94 Troubleshooting
