9. Flash • The flash fires twice. The interval between the first and second firings is longer when [ ] or [ ] is set. The subject should not move until the second firing has finished. • [ ] and [ ] cannot be used when the following are set: - [Flash Synchro]: [2ND] - [Wireless]: [ON] • Some flash modes may not be available depending on the settings on the external flash. • The effectiveness of red-eye reduction varies from person to person. The effect, which is influenced by factors such as distance to the subject and whether the subject is looking at the camera when the preliminary flash is fired, may not be very noticeable in some cases. 228
