Recording pictures (advanced) Using the AF Trigger (DMC-LC80/DMC-LC70) Prefocus is a technique to focus on the point where the subject comes in advance, and it is used when taking a picture of the subject with quick motion. This function is suitable when the distance between the camera and the subject is certain. Preparation • Set the mode dial except for [ ]/[ ]/[ ]. (P29) 1 Select [AF TRIGGER] and set it to [FOCUS]. REC 2/3 SETUP SPOT MODE OFF AUDIO REC. OFF AF TRIGGER SHUTTER FOCUS D.ZOOM SELECT SET OFF EXIT MENU WB WB • Close the menu by pressing [MENU] button after finishing the setting. 2 Aim the AF area to the point where you want to focus (P30) and press the [FOCUS] button. • When the subject is focused, the AF area turns from white to green and the focus indication 1 lights up for 1 second. If the subject is out of the focus range, the focus indication will keep on blinking. • Even when pressing the shutter button halfway, the focus will not be changed unless you press the [FOCUS] button again. • When you press the shutter button halfway, [ AF FOCUS ] indication disappears and then the aperture value and the shutter speed are displayed. • When you press the shutter button halfway without pressing the [FOCUS] button, the [ AF FOCUS ] indication turns to red. 1600 19 AF FOCUS 68
