EXPOSURES ON AUTO In the "Auto" exposure mode the camera automatically varies the shutter speed in relation to the preset lens aperture. In most cases, sharply focused, well-exposed photos are easily obtained simply by presetting the camera as outlined below. When it is very bright, however, or when lighting is limited, such as at dusk, dawn, night, indoors, etc.), some additional adjustments may be required. Usually, it is sufficient to change the lens aperture, but there will also be instances when use of a tripod, electronic flash, or the exposure compensation dial will bring improved results. For exposures on "Auto" perform the following: • Check that the film speed is set properly ( paye 15). • Check that the exposure compensation dial is set to lx. (1) Set the shutter mode dial to "AUTO." (2) Preset the lens aperture according to lighting conditions. Exposure Check: Look through the viewfinder and lightly press the shutter button; the LED (light-emitting-diode) shutter speed display on the left-hand side of the viewfinder will light. (The display shuts off automatically 10 seconds after you release your finger from the shutter button). Lt 125♦'fie X B. tele e 2216 11 8 50 1 2e : 39*
