Timer functions You can select 2 timer functions which will be activated at a chosen time: alarm timer and sleep timer. Make sure the clock is set before using one of these features. Alarm timer setting The unit can be used as an alarm clock, whereby the tuner, CD changer or CD recorder starts playback automatically at a preset time. 1 Follow steps 1 and 2 of "Manual clock setting". 2 Rotate í JOG CONTROL ë to select the alarm timer. ➜ ALARM is displayed and ALARM is blinking. 3 Press YES to confirm the selection. ➜ The hour digit will blink. 4 Rotate í JOG CONTROL ë to set the hour. 5 Use à SEARCH or á SEARCH on the unit to move from hour to minutes. 6 Rotate í JOG CONTROL ë to set the minutes. 7 Press YES to confirm the time settings. 8 Rotate í JOG CONTROL ë to select the source you want to be woken up with. 9 Press YES on the unit to confirm the source selection. Switching the alarm timer on/off q Press TIMER ON/OFF on the remote control repeatedly to switch the alarm timer on or off: ➜ ALARM is shown and ALARM ON is displayed: the alarm timer is switched on. ➜ ALARM goes off and ALARM OFF is displayed: the alarm timer is switched off. 0 To stop the alarm press 2 STANDBY·ON on the unit. Sleep timer You can set a certain period of time before the unit switches off. 1 Press SLEEP repeatedly on the remote control until the desired sleeper time is displayed. ➜ SLEEP is shown and SLEEP 15 MIN, 30 MIN, 45 MIN, 60 MIN or SLEEP OFF is displayed. 2 As soon as the desired time is displayed, do not press SLEEP again. ➜ After the chosen time has elapsed, the unit switches to standby. q To deactivate the sleep timer, press SLEEP on the remote control until SLEEP OFF is displayed. 26
