CT-W5O4R 5.2 ELECTRICAL ADJUSTMENTS Adjustment Conditions 1. The mechanical adjustments must be completed first. 2. The head must be cleaned and demagnetized. 3. Turn power on allow the deck to warm up for at least a few minutes before commencing any electrical adjustments. 4. The reference signal is 0 dBV=1 Vrms. 5. Connect a 10 kQ load resistance to the OUTPUT terminals. 6. Unless otherwise specified, the switches listed below are left in the positions indicated. DOLBY NR : OFF TAPE SELECTOR : NORM List of Adjustments Playback sections 1. Head azimuth adjustment. 2. Playback level adjustment. Recording sections 1. Bias oscillator adjustment. 2. Recording bias adjustment. 3. Recording level adjustment. 4. Level meter check. Test Tapes STD-331E STD-631 or STD-632 STD-621 STD-610 : Playback adjustments (See Fig. 5-3) : NORMAL blank tape : CrO2 blank tape : METAL blank tape * As the reference recording level is 250 nwb/m for STD-331E. the recording level will be higher by 4 dB for STD-331B (160 nwb/m). When adjusting, pay carefull attention to the type of tape used. NOTE: This unit has an automatic tape selection feature.
