Playing tracks from an internal memory or USB memory Memory USB Listen to music by connecting a USB memory device that has your music files to the device. Further, you can listen to music anytime by storing music files in the internal memory of the device using the music management software "MIXTRAX" via a PC. More so, you can enjoy a variety of dance functions on the device with the music files analyzed with "MIXTRAX". For details, see Various dance functions on page 20. Important ! The battery life will be shorter if using the USB memory function compared with the internal memory function when the battery is in use. In particular, if a large USB device that consumes a large amount of power is connected, such as portable hard drives, the battery life will become extremely short. ! This unit may not recognize a USB memory device, play files or supply power to a USB memory device. For details, see page 28. ! Pioneer does not guarantee that any file recorded on a USB memory device will play or that power will be supplied to a USB memory device. Also note that Pioneer will accept no responsibility whatsoever for loss of files on USB memory devices caused by connection to this unit. ! The product is not guaranteed to be drip-proof when the terminal cover on the back of the product is left opened to connect a USB memory device. Notes ! The maximum number of songs that this device can play is 24,000. ! The dance function will not work with tracks that have not undergone music analysis or tracks that were played in the folder mode (page 17). These songs will display the Dance function OFF symbol ( ). 1 Press uSTANDBY/ON to turn on the power of this unit. 2 When playing back a track on a USB memory device: Connect a USB memory device to the USB terminal on the back of the product. MIC 5V 500mA PC connect USB PHONES AUX IN USB memory device 3 Press FUNC repeatedly to select "Memory" (internal memory) or "USB". The display will show the screen to select a track category. The USB memory device will first select the MIXTRAX Library. (Even when MIXTRAX Library is selected, there will be no track playback if there are no analyzed songs. In this case, please playback using the Folder mode. Please refer to page 17 for more information on the Folder mode. If a previous playback has been stopped in a Memory or USB function, the playback will resume from the last location. 4 Select a category from a Dance Genre or select a track by Playlist or Artist, or from All tracks. The BPM (tempo) that is displayed in the track list screen can be switched to time display or dance genre display. For details, see Switch the track list screen on page 16.
