Using the Remote's Features Understanding the SOURCE button Another important button is the SOURCE button. We call these Video Input Channels because you are telling the component to send the video (and audio) that corresponds to the Video Input jack you used to connect the component to the DVD recorder. For example, if you connected a satellite receiver to your DVD recorder by using the S-VIDEO IN jack on the front of the unit, you would need to press and release SOURCE until the front a/v jacks Video Input Channel appears (if the satellite receiver is on, you'll see the program it is tuned to, and FAV appears in the DVD recorder's display to let you know which "channel" the DVD recorder has accessed. Note: When an S-Video cable is connected, it is automatically detected. If you also have a component connected to the audio/video jacks, the S-Video jack takes priority. The Channel Banner While watching TV, press DISPLAY on the remote control to see the channel banner. The information that appears in the channel banner depends upon the information sent from the broadcaster. For example, the rating, the program name, and the time the program ends are not always sent by the broadcaster. 24 Graphics contained within this publication are for representation only.
