Chapter 4: Playing Files Music Playlist Options Menu The Playlist Options menu allows you to use more advanced features, such as opening playlists, tagging, and removing, and other file management. To bring up the Playlist Options menu, press SELECT when navigating your playlists. To select an option, use the arrow buttons or touchpad to highlight it, and press SELECT. Below are some of the options that may appear in the Playlist Options menu. The specific options depend on what is available at the time. For a full list of options for the Video, Music, Photos, and Audible Options menus, see page 50. Rename Add Tagged Play Beginning Resume Play Open Remove All Music Playback Screen The following screen is an example of what the music playback screen might look like when playing a music file. 23 45 Artist, Album, Song Title, Genre, and Year- Displays the metadata(ID3) tag information contained in the file, if available. If no metadata tag information is available, the field will display Unknown. 1 Playback Mode- During playback, the play icon arrow is highlighted. When you pause playback, the pause icon is highlighted. During forward 1 6 or reverse playback, the or icons are highlighted. 2 Elapsed time/total time- The amount of time the track has played, 7 followed by the total time. 3 Play Mode icon (Repeat and Shuffle All) - Displays current playback mode (Repeat, Shuffle, etc.). For more information about playback mode 8 settings, go to page 26. 4 Lock icon- Displayed when the switch on the back of the unit is set to CONTROLS HOLD. 5 Battery Indicator- How much power remains on the battery. Go to page 28 for more information on battery indicator levels. 6 Encoded Bit-rate - The bit-rate the audio file was encoded in when created. 7 Equalizer Preset (Rock) - Displays the EQ preset for the currently playing song. 8 Cover art - Displays the cover art (if available) associated with the current audio file being played. 9 Volume level indicator - There are 33 steps in the volume control. Slide your finger around the touchpad to increase or decrease the volume. The volume level is displayed on screen when increasing or decreasing the volume.
