Text Messages Short Message Service (SMS) allows you to send and receive short text messages to and from other GSM mobile phones. In addition, your phone supports the Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS), which enables you to include simple pictures, melodies, and animated images in your messages. To use this feature, you must subscribe to your service provider's message service. When the Message icon ( ) appears, you have received new text messages. If the memory is full, an error message displays and you cannot receive any new messages. Use the Delete option in each message box to delete the obsolete ones. Note: You can quickly enter the Text Messages menu by pressing the Left key in Idle mode. Inbox (Menu 1.1) This message box is used to store the messages that you have received. When you enter this menu, the list of messages in the box displays with the senders' phone numbers or names, if available in your Phonebook. 1. Select a message from the list and press the View soft key to read the message contents. 2. To scroll through the contents, press the Up or Down key. 3. To scroll to the previous or next message, press the or key. 67

Text Messages
Short Message Service (SMS) allows you to send
and receive short text messages to and from other
GSM mobile phones. In addition, your phone
supports the Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS),
which enables you to include simple pictures,
melodies, and animated images in your messages.
To use this feature, you must subscribe to your
service provider’s message service.
When the Message icon (
) appears, you have
received new text messages. If the memory is full,
an error message displays and you cannot receive
any new messages. Use the
Delete
option in each
message box to delete the obsolete ones.
Note
: You can quickly enter the
Text Messages
menu by pressing the Left key in Idle mode.
Inbox
(Menu 1.1)
This message box is used to store the messages
that you have received.
When you enter this menu, the list of messages in
