Camera settings menu Item Display Brightness Description * Default Adjust the brightness of the screen. (Auto*, Dark, Normal, Bright) Normal is fixed in Playback mode even if Auto is selected. Quick View Power Save Set the duration for reviewing a captured image before returning to Shooting mode. (Off, 0.5 sec*, 1 sec, 3 sec) If you perform no operations for 30 seconds, the camera automatically switches to Power save mode. Press any button to deactivate the Power save mode. (Off*, On) If the Power save mode is deactivated, the display will dim to save battery life when you perform no operations for about 30 seconds. Settings Item Format Reset Language Time Zone * Default Description Format the internal memory and the memory card. All files-including the protected files-are deleted. (No, Yes) If you use a memory card used with cameras from other manufacturers or a memory card reader, or one formatted on a computer, your camera may read the card incorrectly. Format the card before using it. Reset menus and shooting options. Date and time, language, and video output settings are not reset. (No, Yes) Select a language for the display text. Select regions for the home time zone and the visit time zone. t Home: Set the time zone of your home country. Use this option when you reset the camera or when you return to your home country from another time zone. t Visit: If you are visiting a different time zone, use this option to set the time zone as a secondary clock.
