To help you use this feature to maximum advantage, the SHARP Desktop offers you three ways to import documents: • Scan hard-copy documents With the scanner function, you can scan hard-copy documents into the SHARP Desktop. (See Chapter 2 "Scanning" for details.) • Import documents from other applications The Import command can be used to import documents in various formats (Windows® Bitmap (BMP), JPEG JFIF, PCX, DCX, and TIFF) created in other applications. (See "Importing and Exporting" in this chapter for details.) • Use the SHARP Desktop driver By using the Print to Sharp AJ5030 Desktop driver, you can send documents into the SHARP Desktop from the application in which they were created. (See "Printing to the Desktop from Other Applications" in Chapter 4 for details.)

Importing a Document to the SHARP Desktop
The SHARP Desktop gives you an excellent location to store
documents, not only those created in the SHARP Desktop, but
virtually any other application. To help you use this feature to
maximum advantage, the SHARP Desktop offers you three ways to
import documents:
• Scan hard-copy documents
With the scanner function, you can scan hard-copy documents into
the SHARP Desktop. (See Chapter 2 “

• Import documents from other applications
The Import command can be used to import documents in various
