Finalizing a CD-R or a CD-RW
Finalizing manually
If you select the manual finalizing recording (pages 28 -29), the disc should be final-
ized after all tracks are recorded or characters are entered.

Place an unfinalized CD-R or CD-RW disc on the CD-R/CD-RW tray.

Press the CDR button.

Press the FINALIZE button.
To cancel finalizing, press the
button.

Press the ENTER button.
Finalizing starts and the remaining time appears.
During finalizing, no buttons work.
Caution:
Once a CD-R disc is finalized, you cannot make any alteration (additional recording).
You can initialize or unfinalize a finalized CD-RW disc.
Once you finalize the disc, the text data will be erased from the memory (main unit).
Do not unplug the power cord and impart shock to the unit during finalizing. Finaliz-
ing will not be correctly performed, and consequently proper playback may not be
possible.
When you plug the cord again, “DISC RECOVER” appears and the disc can be
recovered.
If “DISC ERROR” appears, the disc is not recoverable.
