14 Operator Maintenance In Case of Power Failure When power is lost, the POS terminal retains its memory contents and all information on sales totals. • When power failure is encountered in the POS terminal idle state or during an entry, the POS terminal returns to the normal state of operation after power recovery. Before Calling for Service The malfunctions shown on the left-hand column below, labeled "Fault," does not necessarily indicate functional faults of the machine. It is therefore advisable to refer to the "Checking" shown on the right-hand column before calling for service. Fault • The display does not illuminate. • No receipt is issued. • No journal paper is taken up. • Printing is unusual.
