Using the display You can check the remaining time of the current track or the entire CD. When a CD TEXT disc is loaded, you can also check the information recorded on the disc, such as the titles. Checking the remaining time Press TIME on the remote repeatedly during normal play. The display changes cyclically as follows: Elapsed playing time on the current track t Remaining time of the current track* t Remaining time of the current CD appears when you check the remaining time of a CD track whose number is 21 or over appears during Shuffle Play of a CD which has 21 or more tracks, or during Program Play when a CD track whose number is 21 or over is selected. Checking the total playing time Press TIME on the remote in stop mode. Checking a track title, a disc title (CD) Press DISPLAY repeatedly. The display changes cyclically as follows: Clock display t Volume*1 t Playing time of the CD*2 t Track title or disc title*3 *1 After 8 seconds, the playing time of the CD appears. *2 The display that appears depends on the current disc status: If the disc is stopped: The total playing time of the CD is displayed. If the disc is playing: The elapsed playing time of the track, remaining playing time of the track, or remaining playing time of the CD is displayed. *3 The track title appears during playback (only for CDs with CD TEXT), and the disc title appears when the disc is stopped. If a CD that has no title is loaded, the track title or disc title is skipped. Checking a station name (Tuner) Press DISPLAY repeatedly. The display changes cyclically as follows: Station name* t Frequency** t Clock display t Volume** * The station name is skipped if the station is unlabeled. ** After appearing for 8 seconds, the display will revert back to the station name (or to the frequency if the station is unlabeled). To scroll a long name Press SCROLL on the remote. The title appears scrolling. To pause the scrolling of the title, press SCROLL on the remote again. Tips • If you press TIME on the remote in stop mode for a CD with CD TEXT containing the artist name, the artist name appears scrolling. • To label a disc title on a CD, see "Labeling a CD" on page 11. • To label a station name on a preset station, see "Labeling the preset stations" on page 16. 20GB

Using the display
You can check the remaining time of the current
track or the entire CD. When a CD TEXT disc is
loaded, you can also check the information
recorded on the disc, such as the titles.
Checking the remaining time
Press TIME on the remote repeatedly
during normal play.
The display changes cyclically as follows:
Elapsed playing time on the current track

Remaining time of the current track*

Remaining time of the current CD**

“– –.– –” appears when you check the remaining
time of a CD track whose number is 21 or over.
** “– –.– –” appears during Shuffle Play of a CD
which has 21 or more tracks, or during Program
Play when a CD track whose number is 21 or over
is selected.

time
Press TIME on the remote in stop mode.

To scroll a long name
Press SCROLL on the remote.
The title appears scrolling.
To pause the scrolling of the title, press
SCROLL on the remote again.
Tips
If you press TIME on the remote in stop mode for a
CD with CD TEXT containing the artist name, the
artist name appears scrolling.
