Removing, Installing, and Replacing Components 41 Installing a 3.5" Internal Hard Disk Drive Your system comes with an available bay to hold an additional 3.5" IDE hard disk drive. Some models, such as Configure-to-Order (CTO) systems, may already have a second hard disk drive. Your system can support ATA-33, ATA-66, or ATA-100 hard disk drives. The drive you install must not require front panel access. The hard disk drive access light blinks when either internal drive is active. ! Before opening the system unit, save and close all open files, exit all open applications, turn off the power to all attached peripheral devices, shut down the computer, and unplug the power cord. 1 Configure the jumpers on the new drive as a slave device (see your drive's documentation for configuration instructions).
