When the Access Point is isolated from the network If for some reason the Access Point IP address becomes temporarily disabled and is isolated from the netw ork, communications betw een the Access Point and the client are ensured by the computer allocating a temporary IP address. This w ill restore the Access Point function. This function is used under the follow ing conditions.  When the Access Point of a LAN connection mode is connected to a LAN that is not operating on the DHCP server.  When the ISDN router suddenly stops functioning w hen the Access Point is connected to the ISDN router. This explanation describes the former situation. 1. Startup the Custom Access Point Setup Utility. 2. Confirm w he the r or not the Acce s s Point ID and pas s w ord are corre ct and click SCAN. The Access Point IP Address configuration screen is displayed. 3. Ente r the s am e IP addre s s for the s ub-ne t as the clie nt com pute r into the IP Addres s for. Hint The above screen is an example for a client computer IP address of 169.254.213.100. 4. Click OK. Startup the Custom Access Point Setup Utility.
2.
Confirm whether or not the Access Point ID and password are correct and click SCAN.
The Access Point IP Address configuration screen is displayed.
3.
Enter the same IP address for the sub-net as the client computer into the IP Address for.
Hint
The above screen is an example for a client computer IP address of 169.254.213.100.
4.
Click OK.
