MPEG HD recording Recording * An upgrade license for the option is required for this function (see page 5). On the PXW-FS5, this function is supported using Ver. 3.0 or later (see page 5). Preparing to record in MPEG HD In order to use the MPEG HD recording function, it is necessary to purchase the "CBKZ-SLMP" (sold separately), obtain the install key via the Internet according to the following procedure, and then install the option on the camcorder. For details, follow the procedure in the Installation Guide of the "CBKZ-SLMP" (sold separately). Purchase the MPEG HD Upgrade License "CBKZ-SLMP" (sold separately) r Obtain an install key. r Install the option on the camcorder. r Record movies in MPEG HD. Recording in MPEG HD When compatible recording media* is inserted in the camcorder, you can switch to MPEG HD recording in the menu. * See "Recommended memory cards" (p. 78). 1 Select (REC/OUT SET) menu t [REC SET] t [FILE FORMAT] t [MPEG HD 422] or [MPEG HD 420]. 2 Select (REC/OUT SET) menu t [REC SET] t [REC FORMAT]. 3 Select the recording format. If data code display is set to ON during playback, "--" is displayed. - Color bars can be used only when proxy recording is OFF. - Date recording can be used only during interlaced recording. • When recording in MPEG HD, recording stops automatically when the recorded file reaches 6 hours duration. • The maximum recording time in MPEG HD using relay recording is 6 hours.
