Condition Cause/Remedy [Cannot play tracks] is displayed. Some music files may not be played back depending on the file format. [Cannot show the item] is displayed. This unit may not be connected to a network properly. Perform the connection test. Select [ Information] in the Home screen, and press (ENTER). Press OPTIONS. Select [Connection test] in the Options menu, and press (ENTER). The connection test starts. Follow the on-screen instructions if connection fails. Web service is not displayed in The server may not be set. Check the Server settings. the list. A server using software such as "VAIO Media" is not displayed in the list. This unit or the server is not connected to a network. See the cause/ remedy of "[A connection error occurred] as displayed" in "Connecting to Wireless Network" (page 51). The server is not active. Check the following: The server is turned on. The server status ([Start/Stop server]) is set to [Start]. This unit is registered with the server. For registration, refer to the Help section of the server software in use, or the operating instructions supplied with the server. The server may not be recognized if this unit is turned on before turning on the server. Select [Update information] in the Options menu to update the list. If a computer is used as a server, check the following: The computer may be unstable. Restart the computer. This unit may not connect to a computer with an Internet connection fire wall (ICF) function on. For fire wall information, see the Help section for the security software in use. Register this unit to the server individually. Click [Start] in the computer used as the server, and click [All Program]-[VAIO Media]-[Server Administration]-[VAIO Media Server Settings] to start VAIO Media Integrated Server. Click [Access Control Settings] page, and click [Register]. After starting the device registration wizard, put a check mark on [Manually register the device by entering the MAC address], and click [Next]. Follow the instructions on the screen to register this unit. 64
