• Check that the DVDirect is correctly connected to the output on the video device. • Disconnect all cables. Turn the DVDirect and video device off, then on again. Reconnect the video device to the DVDirect. Insert DVD created by this unit. • A disc created by another device has been inserted. A disc created by another video device will not play back. Cannot record to this disc in the selected operation. • Usable discs differ depending on recording method (page 75). (For example, a video stored on a camera connected with a USB cable cannot be recorded to DVD+R DL disc.) Setup camera for USB connection. • Setup for USB connection on the camera may not be correct. Connection to the DVDirect is similar to connecting to a computer. Unknown USB device found. Check the connected device. • An unsupported USB device is connected to the USB port of the DVDirect. No valid video or photo found in the camera. • The camera or memory card does not contain any videos or photos. No valid video found in the camera. • The camera or memory card has no video to record. • When storing only HD (High Definition) video in a Handycam®, [Video b DVD] in [Menu] may be selected. When recording an HD (High Definition) video, select [AVCHD dubbing] in [Menu]. No valid photo found in the camera. • The camera or memory card does not contain any photos. The disc is full. • Even if the disc is not full, you cannot record to the disc when the number of video titles or photos reaches a maximum number for recording. • In some cases, full-capacity recording may not be possible, depending on how the disc is used. Connected device error. Check the camcorder. • Check that the camcorder is correctly connected to the DVDirect with USB cable. Check that the camera is turned on. • If a demo video is included in the camcorder, the camera may not operate normally. Delete a demo video from the camera. Memory card error. Check the memory card. • An incompatible memory card is inserted. For example, a memory card containing video recorded by a video device other than a Handycam® is incompatible. System error. • When this message appears repeatedly, the DVDirect may be damaged. Troubleshooting/References 73
