Features of writable discs You can use various discs with the drive to write data. Refer to the table below to find the type of disc that matches what you want to do. To DVD+R DVD+R DL create DVD-Video that can be played back by most drives and/or players create DVDs that you can edit create DVDs to which you can add to later. create video CDs that can be played back with most computers use DVDs like video tapes (allowing multiple rewrites) distribute 700 MB of data or more (create DVD-ROM discs) distribute data that can be used on most computers (create CD-ROM discs) create audio CDs that can be played back on most CD players DVD+RW DVD-R DVD-RW CD-R CD-RW back up your hard disk store data without deleting it use discs in the same way as floppy discs Note You can access/play back the data written to the discs above with most drives/players that support their formats. However, some combinations of drives/players and discs (depending on their quality and/or characteristics) may make access/playback impossible.
