Tensioning the Saw Chain English / USA 100BA010 KN 100BA005 KN 21 13 14 : Place sprocket cover in position. Engage guide lugs in holes in motor housing and check that the teeth of the adjusting wheel and tensioning gear are meshing. : If necessary, turn the adjusting wheel (13) slightly until the sprocket cover can be pushed flush against the motor housing. : Swing out the handle (14) so that it snaps into position. : Engage wingnut and tighten it down moderately. : Fold down the handle. 100BA011 KN Models with side or front tensioner Retensioning during cutting work: : Disconnect plug from power supply. : Loosen the nut. : Hold the bar nose up. : Use a screwdriver to turn the tensioning screw (1 or 2) clockwise until chain fits snugly against the underside of the bar. : While still holding bar nose up, tighten down the nut firmly. Go to "Checking Chain Tension". 1 2 Models with quick chain tensioner : Disconnect plug from power supply. : Swing up the handle of the wingnut (2). Loosen the wingnut. : Turn adjusting wheel (1) clockwise as far as stop. : Tighten down the wingnut (2) firmly by hand. : Fold down the handle of the wingnut. Engage guide lugs in holes in motor

the adjusting wheel and tensioning
gear are meshing.

If necessary, turn the adjusting

Swing out the handle (

snaps into position.

Engage wingnut and tighten it down
moderately.
:
Fold down the handle.
Models with side or front
tensioner
Retensioning during cutting work:
:
Disconnect plug from power supply.
:
Loosen the nut.
:
Hold the bar nose up.
:
Use a screwdriver to turn the
tensioning screw
(
1
or
2
) clockwise
until chain fits snugly against the
underside of the bar.
:
While still holding bar nose up,
tighten down the nut
firmly
.
Go to “Checking Chain Tension”.
Models with quick chain
tensioner
:
Disconnect plug from power supply.
:
Swing up the handle of the
wingnut (

). Loosen the wingnut.
:
Turn adjusting wheel (
1
) clockwise
as far as stop.
:
Tighten down the wingnut (
2
)
firmly
by hand.
:
Fold down the handle of the
wingnut.
Go to “Checking Chain Tension”.
