AUTO SATELLITE LINK USING A SATELLITE TUNER(not su m lied) When the VCR receives the signals using the audio/video input jacks on the rear panel of the VCR from your satellite tuner, the VCR will turn itself on, and record. Then when there is no signals, the VCR stops and turns itself off automatically. If your satellite tuner has the EPG (Electronic Program Guide), you can set a timer program using it. For details, please see your satellite tuner's owner's manual. Also, you need to follow the steps below for the VCR. • Connect the audio/video input jacks on the rear panel of the VCR to the audio/video output jacks on the satellite tuner. • Press the TAPE SPEED button on the VCR to select the desired tape speed (SP/SLP). • Clock must be set to the correct time and date before setting the timer. Note for viewing/recording a program using your satellite tuner: • If a broadcasting program has copy guard protection, you may not record clearly. • When you record a program using the Auto Satellite Link feature, the beginning(a few seconds) of a program may be not recorded. • ..1111111•11.•/. 1 It.44.:rt a cassette tape with its erase prevention tab in place If necessary, rewind or fast forward the tape to the point at which you want to begin recording. Then, press the F.FWD/1/0- button. The current time appears on the TV screen. AUTO SATELLITE LINK %SO • If you set the VCR to the stand-by mode of Auto Satellite Link, immediately press the F.FWD/I0- button again, then go to step [7]. • If you view the satellite tuner's program until the start time for an Auto Satellite Link, continue with step [5]. • If you have not yet set the clock, "CLOCK SET" appears. If so, follow the steps [2] to [8] on page 15. Then, set the timer recording. 5 Set the wart hour Press the PLAY/A or STOP/V button until the desired hour (AM or PM) appears. After a few seconds, the VCR turns off and the TIMER indicator on the VCR will come on. • To exit a stand-by mode of the Auto Satellite Link, press the POWER button to turn on the VCR. In this case, the Auto Satellite Link setting will be cancelled automatically. • When stopping a recording of the Auto Satellite Link while in progress, press the STOP/EJECT button on the VCR. In this case, the Auto Satellite Link setting will be cancelled automatically. • There is a chance that a recording will not be performed correctly when another timer recording overlaps. If the start time for an Auto Satellite Link comes up during a timer recording, the timer recording has priority. - 29 - EN 9H10
