Basic Operation (1) This chapter describes the basic operation which is available in every sound source. 3 Play the source, and adjust the volume using the VOLUME ( + / - ) buttons. 1 Press the Standby/On (¤ ) button to turn the unit on. The volume can be adjusted from MIN (0) to MAX (40). < The unit turns on with the source that was last selected. Dimmer 2 Press the FUNCTION button to select a source. ENGLISH Each time the FUNCTION button is pressed, the sound source changes as follows: iPod Press the DIMMER button to dim the display light. Press the DIMMER button again to restore the display to its normal brightness. o This function will be cancelled when the STANDBY/ON (¤) button is pressed. FM Muting AM You can mute the sound temporarily. USB AUX (External source) o To listen to an external component connected to the AUDIO jacks, select "AUX". o You can also use the BAND button to select directly "FM" or "AM". Press the MUTING button. Press the MUTING button again to restore the sound. o "Muting" lights on the display while muting is engaged. o If you change the volume level or sound source when the sound is muted, muting is cancelled. 13
