To mount the base on the wall using a baseboard jack, cut out the template on page 48 to position screws. Make sure that your telephone jack is located near an electrical outlet. To ensure constant functioning, the outlet should not be controlled by a light switch. If the outlet is farther away, you may need an extension cord. 2 Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the back of the base unit in the TEL LINE 1/2 jack. If you want to connect another telephone line to the FT-7257, plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE 2 slot at the back and the other end into the second telephone line outlet . Position the telephone line cord(s) through the holder channel(s) on the underside of the base unit. 3 Insert the tip of the AC adaptor into the DC IN 9V jack on the back of the base unit. 4 Position the AC adaptor cord through the holder channel on the underside of the base unit. 5 Position the base over the wall plate "screws". Plug the line cord into the jack. Press the unit toward the wall and then down to secure it properly. 6 Plug the AC adaptor into the electrical outlet.
