110 Expansion Options Using the optional external USB diskette drive Using the optional external USB diskette drive The optional external USB diskette drive allows you to use diskettes and is useful for installing software on the hard disk, exchanging information with other systems, and making backup copies of the files stored on your hard disk. NOTE If your system shipped with an External CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive, Tosiba recommends that you keep a distance of at least 30 cm (approximately 12 inches) between cellular phones and the drive. Use of cell phones in close proximity to the drive may interfere with audio playback. Connecting the optional external USB diskette drive You can attach the optional external USB diskette drive to a USB port on the computer. USB connector Eject button Diskette-in-use light Diskette slot Optional external USB diskette drive and connector cable TECHNICAL NOTE: You may attach the optional external USB diskette drive while the computer is on or off. If you attempt to access the drive when it is not attached to the computer, you will receive an error message.
