40 Getting Started Setting up your computer Installing additional memory (optional) Your computer comes with enough memory to run most of today's popular applications. You may want to increase the computer's memory if you use complex software or process large amounts of data. One slot is available for adding a memory module. To install a memory module: CAUTION: Static electricity can damage the memory module. Before handling the module, touch a grounded metal surface. 1 Turn the computer off. CAUTION: Do not try to install a memory module with the computer in Standby or Hibernation mode. You can damage the computer and the module. 2 Remove all cables connected to the computer.
