Optional Devices Removing Memory Module(s) To remove the memory module(s), make sure the computer is in boot mode then: 1. Turn the computer off in boot mode. Refer to the Turning Off the Power section in Chapter 3. ■ The memory modules may be overheated when your computer has been operated for a period of time. In this case, let the memory modules cool down to room temperature before you installing/removing them. ■ Do not try to install a memory module with the computer turned on or turned off in sleep or hibernation mode. It would damage the computer and the memory module. 2. Remove all cables connected to the computer. 3. Close the display and turn the computer upside down. 4. Remove the battery pack (refer to Chapter 6, Power and Power-up Modes.). 5. Turn the computer display-side up and open the display. 6. Slip a flat object such as a Slotted screwdriver into the notch at the right side of the keyboard brace. Lift up the keyboard brace to release latches and remove the keyboard brace.(refer to Installing Memory Module(s) section) 7. Remove two screws securing the keyboard. Use a point size 0 Phillips screwdriver. 8. Slide the keyboard toward the display. Lift the bottom edge of the keyboard and tilt the keyboard over.(refer to Installing Memory Module(s) section) The keyboard is connected to the computer by a keyboard ribbon cable. Be careful not to apply tension to this cable when you tilt the keyboard over. Do not try to disconnect this cable. User's Manual 8-13

Removing Memory Module(s)
To remove the memory module(s), make sure the computer is in boot mode
then:
1.
Turn the computer off in boot mode. Refer to the
Turning Off the

section in Chapter 3.
2.
Remove all cables connected to the computer.
3.
Close the display and turn the computer upside down.
4.
Remove the battery pack (refer to Chapter 6,

5.
Turn the computer display-side up and open the display.
