220 Windows 2000 Supplemental Information Using your computer for the first time After the software setup process is complete, be sure to register your computer with Toshiba by double-clicking the Registration icon on your desktop. Registering your computer lets Toshiba keep you up-to-date with information about new products and upgrades, and also extends your Toshiba limited warranty worldwide at no charge to you. NOTE To register online, your computer's modem must be connected to a voice-grade telephone line or Local Area Network. To register your computer at a later time, select No, I do not want to register at this time. ❖ Read about limited Warranty Extensions and Upgrades. This step provides important information from Microsoft. Completing installation Upon completion, you will be prompted to click Finish. You may be prompted to restart your computer. Completing the initial startup procedure When the computer starts again, a dialog box appears prompting you for your password. If you did not create a password, leave the password box empty and click OK. Depending on your configuration, you may see the Getting Started with Windows 2000 screen when you continue. If you do not see this screen, your system will display the desktop.
