Operation 2 The OUTPUT FREQUENCY selection screen will appear. OUTPUT FREQUENCY refers to the cycles-per-second (Hz) of UPS output power. This value is most commonly set to match the prevailing country or region-specific frequency. In general, in the USA, Canada and Mexico use the 60Hz factory setting. In 100-127V 50Hz locations, such as Jamaica, Antigua and parts of Japan, set the UPS to 50Hz. To successfully configure your UPS to convert frequency from 50-to-60Hz or 60-to-50Hz, set BOTH the OUTPUT FREQUENCY to the desired setting and enable this function by setting the FREQ CONVERSION to ENABLE. ACCEPT AND ADVANCE To ACCEPT the current value & ADVANCE to the next configuration screen, press the ON/SELECT button (less than 1 second). VIEW ALTERNATE SETTINGS To VIEW ALTERNATE SETTINGS, press the SETUP BUTTON repeatedly (under 1 second each). AVAILABLE VALUES 60Hz (factory), 50Hz LEAVE UPS SETUP MODE To leave UPS setup mode, PRESS and HOLD the SETUP BUTTON (about 3 seconds). NOTE - the UPS must be in STANDBY MODE to change the output frequency setting 3 The FREQUENCY CONVERTER selection screen will appear. FREQUENCY CONVERTER refers to the ability of the UPS to convert 60Hz to 50Hz or 50Hz to 60Hz. The UPS system automatically selects 50 Hz or 60 Hz operation based on utility power conditions at start-up. The factory configuration of OFF is ideal for most applications. Some users may wish to convert frequency for connected equipment. To successfully configure your UPS for frequency conversion, turn ON the FREQUENCY CONVERTER function and SET the OUTPUT FREQUENCY function to the desired 50 or 60 Hz setting. ACCEPT AND ADVANCE To ACCEPT the current value & ADVANCE to the next configuration screen , press the ON/SELECT button (less than 1 second). VIEW ALTERNATE SETTINGS To VIEW ALTERNATE SETTINGS, press the SETUP BUTTON repeatedly (under 1 second each). AVAILABLE VALUES OFF(factory), ON LEAVE UPS SETUP MODE To leave UPS setup mode, PRESS and HOLD the SETUP BUTTON (about 3 seconds). NOTE - the UPS must be in STANDBY MODE to change the frequency converter setting 4 The BYPASS RANGE selection screen will appear. BYPASS RANGE: Sets the allowable voltage deviation from nominal input voltage that is acceptable for the unit to go to bypass in a fault condition. If the voltage goes outside the range, the unit will not go to bypass. If the unit is already in bypass, it will turn the output off. The factory setting of WIDE is compatible with the vast majority of networking equipment. Regardless of the "plus or minus" value entered, the highest bypass voltage available is 135V. The lowest bypass voltage available is 90V (full load) and 70V (
