If necessary, you can override the LO power output setting during an emergency situation. Warning: This is an emergency procedure and should be used accordingly. 1. Press the PTT button on your microphone. 2. Press and hold HI/LO. 3. Releasing the HI/LO returns to LO output. Transmitting with the SOLARA 1. Press the PTT button, to activate the transmitter. 2. Note: If the PTT button is held down and the power is turned on, a warning tone sounds, the CH LED display begins to flash, and the unit will not transmit. The SOLARA resets for normal operation when the PTT button is released. Transmitter Time-Out If the PTT button on your microphone is held for more than 5-minutes, the SOLARA transmitter automatically shuts off, a warning tone sounds, and the TX LED display begins to flash. This prevents damage to your receiver, and - in the event that the transmission is unintentional - communication frequencies will not be jammed. 11
