26 Installing user software on a PC-compatible computer Setting up the Fiery SI as a PostScript printer To set up the Fiery SI as a PostScript printer, you need a PostScript printer driver and the appropriate Fiery SI printer description files. Printer drivers and procedures vary across Windows versions. These sections also include some information about network setup. Setting up printing with Windows 3.1x If you are printing with Windows 3.1x, you can print with either the Adobe PostScript Printer Driver (version 3.0.1 included with User Software CD) or the standard Windows PostScript printer driver. To take advantage of PostScript Level 2 features in applications that support them, install the Adobe PostScript Printer Driver. If you use the Windows PostScript printer driver, you must install the PostScript Printer Description (PPD) file from the User Software CD. TO INSTALL THE ADOBE POSTSCRIPT PRINTER DRIVER AND PPD FOR USE WITH WINDOWS 3.1X: 1. Start Windows and exit any applications that start automatically. 2. Insert the User Software CD in your PC. 3. In the Windows Program manager, choose Run from the File menu. 4. Click Browse. 5. Select the drive containing your User Software CD or Printer Files disk, open the ENGLISH\PRNTDRV\WIN_31 folders, and select the SETUP.EXE file. 6. Click OK in the Browse and Run dialog boxes. 7. Click Skip to postpone reading the README file.

Setting up the Fiery SI as a PostScript printer
To set up the Fiery SI as a PostScript printer, you need a PostScript printer driver and
the appropriate Fiery SI printer description files. Printer drivers and procedures vary
across Windows versions. These sections also include some information about network
setup.

Setting up printing with Windows 3.1x
If you are printing with Windows 3.1x, you can print with either the Adobe PostScript
Printer Driver (version 3.0.1 included with User Software CD) or the standard
Windows PostScript printer driver. To take advantage of PostScript Level 2 features in
applications that support them, install the Adobe PostScript Printer Driver. If you use
the Windows PostScript printer driver, you must install the PostScript Printer
Description (PPD) file from the User Software CD.
