5. Launch the Add Printer Wizard. Keep the "automatically detect" box checked as shown to the right. 6. If prompted, specify the drive where the driver files are located (CD-ROM). 7. Click "Print Test Page" at the end of the installation to test the connection. 8. If the test page fails to print, use the MS-DOS Command Prompt to bypass the computer's operating system: ■ Click the computer's START button and select RUN. ■ Type "command" and click OK to launch the MS-DOS Command Prompt. ■ Type the command "echo showpage > lpt1:" and press ENTER (change "lpt1:" to match the PC's comm port). Test Macintosh USB Port
To test the printer’s USB port from a Macintosh computer, the printer driver must be installed and tested. This
procedure demonstrates how to install the Phaser 8400 PostScript driver (PPD) and generate a test print on a
Macintosh computer running OS 10.2.x.
1.
Connect an A-to-B cable between the USB ports on the printer and Macintosh computer.
2.
Verify the printer is “Ready To Print”.
3.
Insert the CD-ROM into the computer’s drive.

Launch the Add Printer Wizard. Keep the
“automatically detect” box checked as
shown to the right.
6.
If prompted, specify the drive where the
driver files are located (CD-ROM).
7.
Click “Print Test Page” at the end of the
installation to test the connection.

If the test page fails to print, use the
