Error Codes Review Exercise Use your Phaser 8400/8500/8550 Service Manual to locate troubleshooting information for the error codes below. An electronic version of the manual is available in the training CD-ROM's Resources section. The answers for this exercise are located in the Appendix on page 92. 1. Locate and record the two most likely failures when the Control Panel displays the message "POST Failure 11.02 2. After replacing the Media Drive Assembly, the printer reports error code "37,015.40". Use the Service Manual to determine which wiring harness is disconnected 3. A Phaser 8400 printer is jamming on every page. The Jam History shows several instances of the "B3T" jam code. Use the Service Manual to determine which sensor is responsible for this error Print Quality Most print-quality problems can be resolved by the end user. The most common print-quality defects are caused by one of the following: ■ Unsupported or damaged media ■ Software applications and driver settings ■ Areas in the printer that require cleaning ■ Non-Xerox or expired supplies (ink sticks and maintenance kits) The Print-Quality Troubleshooting section of the Service Manual contains instructions for diagnosing print-quality problems. It describes the built-in Service Test Prints that are provided for evaluating specific print-quality issues.
