TROUBLESHOOTING Refer to the chart below when this unit does not function properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below or if the instruction below does not help, stop using this unit and disconnect the power cord, then contact the nearest authorized YAMAHA dealer or service center. Problem The client does not output any sound. You cannot start playback on the client. Playback from the client skips. Playback on the client skips or pauses. The client does not play back some songs displayed in the song selection menus. You cannot select an external input on the server from the client. Cause The volume setting of the client is low. The speakers are not connected correctly to the MCX-CA15. The server is turned off. The server's hard disk drive does not contain any songs that have been completely encoded to MP3 format. The song stored on the server has not yet been converted to MP3 format. The network is extremely congested. You are using close to the maximum number of clients and simultaneously playing, storing, or editing on the server. The server is currently recording the song selected for playback. The server is recording from an external source. Remedy Increase the volume setting. Check the connections between the MCX-CA15 and the speakers. Turn on the server. Wait until the server completes encoding songs to MP3. Register songs stored from external components to the library, or wait for the MP3 encoding process to complete. Wait until the song has been converted to MP3 format (until the asterisk ("*") disappears from next to the song name). Place your clients under an independent subnet mask, or upgrade your network hardware. Reduce the number of clients to which the server is distributing music simultaneously, or stop any operation you are performing on the server. Wait until the server finishes encoding the song to MP3. Wait until the server finishes recording.
