Chapter 4 Wireless Station Mode Configuration The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 11 Station Mode: Profile LABEL DESCRIPTION Profile List Click a column heading to sort the entries. , , or denotes that the wireless device is in infrastructure mode and the wireless security is activated. denotes that the wireless device is in infrastructure mode but the wireless security is deactivated. denotes that the wireless device is in Ad-Hoc mode and the wireless security is activated. denotes that the wireless device is in Ad-Hoc mode but the wireless security is deactivated. Profile Name This is the name of the pre-configured profile. SSID This is the SSID of the wireless network to which the selected profile associates. Frequency This is the wireless LAN mode of the wireless network to which the selected profile associates. Connect To use and activate a previously saved network profile, select a pre-configured profile name in the table and click Connect. Add To add a new profile into the table, click Add. Delete To delete an existing wireless network configuration, select a profile in the table and click Delete. Edit To edit an existing wireless network configuration, select a profile in the table and click Edit. Profile Info The following fields display detail information of the selected profile in the Profile List table. Network Type This field displays the network type (Infrastructure or Ad-Hoc) of the profile. SSID This field displays the SSID (Service Set IDentifier) of the profile. Frequency This field displays the wireless LAN mode of the profile. Channel This field displays the channel number used by the profile. Security This field shows whether data encryption is activated (WEP, WPA-PSK, WPA, 802.1x, WPA2, WPA2-PSK) or inactive (Disable). Transfer Rate This field displays the transmission speed of the selected profile in megabits per second (Mbps). 4.4.1 Adding a New Profile Follow the steps below to add a new profile. 1 Click Add in the Profile screen.
