Chapter 7 Setup Wizard Figure 32 Wizard: Time Settings 7.2.2 Step 2 Password and Uplink Connection Use this screen to configure the Zyxel Device's system password and IP address. Change Password: Enter a new password and retype it to confirm. Uplink Connection: Select Auto (DHCP) if the Zyxel Device is connected to a router with the DHCP server enabled. You then need to check the router for the IP address assigned to the Zyxel Device in order to access the Zyxel Device's Web Configurator again. Otherwise, select Static IP when the Zyxel Device is NOT connected to a router or you want to assign it a fixed IP address. You will need to manually enter: • the Zyxel Device's IP address and subnet mask. • the IP address of the router that helps forward traffic. • a DNS server's IP address. The Domain Name System (DNS) maps a domain name to an IP address and vice versa. The DNS server is extremely important because without it, you must know the IP address of a computer before you can access it. Click Prev to return to the previous screen. Click Next to proceed.
