Chapter 22 UPnP Screens Table 121 ADVANCED > UPnP LABEL DESCRIPTION Allow users to make configuration changes through UPnP Select this check box to allow UPnP-enabled applications to automatically configure the ZyWALL so that they can communicate through the ZyWALL, for example by using NAT traversal, UPnP applications automatically reserve a NAT forwarding port in order to communicate with another UPnP enabled device; this eliminates the need to manually configure port forwarding for the UPnP enabled application. Allow UPnP to pass through Firewall Select this check box to allow traffic from UPnP-enabled applications to bypass the firewall. Clear this check box to have the firewall block all UPnP application packets (for example, MSN packets). Apply Click Apply to save your changes back to the ZyWALL. Reset Click Reset to begin configuring this screen afresh. 22.4 The Ports Screen Click ADVANCED > UPnP > Ports to display the UPnP Ports screen. Use this screen to view the NAT port mapping rules that UPnP creates on the ZyWALL. Figure 264 ADVANCED > UPnP > Ports The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 122 ADVANCED > UPnP > Ports LABEL DESCRIPTION Reserve UPnP NAT rules in flash after system bootup Select this check box to have the ZyWALL retain UPnP created NAT rules even after restarting. If you use UPnP and you set a port on your computer to be fixed for a specific service (for example FTP for file transfers), this option allows the ZyWALL to keep a record when your computer uses UPnP to create a NAT forwarding rule for that service. The following read-only table displays information about the UPnP-created NAT mapping rule entries in the ZyWALL's NAT routing table. # This is the index number of the UPnP-created NAT mapping rule entry. Remote Host This field displays the source IP address (on the WAN) of inbound IP packets. Since this is often a wildcard, the field may be blank. When the field is blank, the ZyWALL forwards all traffic sent to the External Port on the WAN interface to the Internal Client on the Internal Port. When this field displays an external IP address, the NAT rule has the ZyWALL forward inbound packets to the Internal Client from that IP address only. ZyWALL 2 Plus User's Guide 405
