Checking Coolant Turning the surge tank pressure cap when the engine and radiator are hot can allow steam and scalding liquids to blow out and burn you badly. Never turn the surge tank pressure cap even a little when the engine and radiator are hot. -- -- When your engine cold, the coolant level should at is be the FULL COLD mark, which is at or above the fill mark at the edge of the surge tank. The surge tank located onthe driver's side of is the engine. The cooling systemis under a lotof pressure when itis hot. If the CHECK COOLANT LEVEL message appears onthe Driver Information Center,you will need to add coolant. Mffl If the CHECK COOLANT LEVEL message comes on, it means you're low on engine coolant. 6-24
