Folding or Reclining the Seatbacks The seatback on a bucket seat can either be folded forward or reclined using the nylon strap or the recline lever. Notice: Folding a rear seat with the safety belts still fastened may cause damage to the seat or the safety belts. Always unbuckle the safety belts and return them to their normal stowed position before folding a rear seat. 2. Fold the seatback forward. {CAUTION: If the seatback is not locked, it could move forward in a sudden stop or crash. That could cause injury to the person sitting there. Always push and pull on the seatback to be sure it is locked. To raise the seatback to the upright position from a reclined position, do the following: 1. Pull the nylon strap or lift the recline lever while raising the seatback until it locks to the upright position. 2. Push and pull on the seatback to check that it is locked. Nylon Strap Recline Lever To fold the seatback forward, do the following: 1. Pull the nylon strap, located on the rear right hand side of the seat, or lift the recline lever, located on the front right hand side of the seatback to release the seatback. 1-10
