5. If your engine still won'tstart (or starts but thenstops). it couldbe flooded with too much gasoline. Try this: Wait 15 seconds to letthestartermotorcooldown.Thenpush your acceleratorpedal all the way to the floor. Hold it there. Then, hold the key in Start for no morethantenseconds. This clearstheextra gasoline from theengine. If theengine still doesn't start, waitanother 15 secondsand do Step 5 again. Hot Engine Westtart, 5.711. and 7.4L Engines (Vehicles Over 8500 QVWR): If yourengineisalreadyhotandthenstalls,turnyourignitionkey to Off. Then, turn yourkey to Run, andwaitabout 20 secondsbefore you restartyour engine. Whentheenginestarts,let go of thekeyandacceleratorpedal. 2-1 5
