New Vehicle "Break-In" NOTICE: Your modern vehicle doesn't need an elaborate "break-in." But it will perform better in the run if you follow these long guidelines: Keep your speed at 55 mph (88 k m h ) o rless for the first 500 miles (804 km). Don't drive at any one speed- fast or slow - for the first 500 miles (804 km). Don't make full-throttle starts. Avoid making hard stops for the first miles (322 km) or 200 so. During this time your brake linings aren't yet broken new in. Hard stops withnew linings can mean premature wear and earlier replacement. Follow this "breaking-in" guideline every timeyou get new brake linings. 1Qnition Switch Use your ignition key to start your vehicle. ignition key lets you turn The the ignition switch to five different positions. w 1.
