J16L_EA.book Page 19 Friday, February 22, 2002 11:34 AM Knowing Your Mazda Doors and Locks M Remote Liftgate Lock If your Mazda has a power door-lock system (page 3-10), the liftgate can be locked/ unlocked by one of the following methods: • Use a key in the driver's door. • Use a key in the front passenger door. • Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the transmitter. • Pushing the area on the door-lock switch marked "DOOR LOCK" or the unmarked part. Power Windows The ignition switch must be in the ON position for the power windows to operate. WARNING Closing Power Windows: Closing power windows are dangerous. A person's hands, head, or even neck could be caught by the window and result in serious injury or even death. This warning applies especially to children. Make sure the opening is clear before closing a window. M Opening and Closing the Liftgate To open the liftgate, pull up on the handle. CAUTION To prevent burning out the fuse and damaging the power window system, don't open or close more than two windows at once. To close, use both hands to push the liftgate down until the lock snaps shut. Do not slam it. Pull up on the liftgate to make sure it is secure. 3-19 Form No. 8Q44-EA-01K

Remote Liftgate Lock
If your Mazda has a power door-lock system
(page 3-10), the liftgate can be locked/
unlocked by one of the following methods:
Use a key in the driver’s door.
Use a key in the front passenger door.
Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button
on the transmitter.
Pushing the area on the door-lock
switch marked "DOOR LOCK" or
the
unmarked part.
Opening and Closing the Liftgate
To open the liftgate, pull up on the handle.
To close, use both hands to push the
liftgate down until the lock snaps shut. Do
not slam it. Pull up on the liftgate to make
