11Mbps Wireless LAN Card User Manual Site Survey Site Survey function scans the wireless network searching for available Access Points and wireless stations (Ad-hoc mode) within the range of the card. Available stations are listed with the following information: BSSID: Basic Service Set ID. It is actually the MAC address of the Access Point/wireless station (Ad-hoc mode). It can be used to identify the stations when they have the same SSID. SSID: Service Set ID. Displays the current SSID of the Access Point or Ad Hoc network. Signal: Shows the signal strength ratio. The higher the ration, the more powerful the signal received by your Wireless LAN Card. It helps you optimize the placement of your wireless station when roaming throughout the wireless network environment Channel: The operating radio channel number. WEP: Displays if encryption is enabled or disabled on the Access Point/wireless station. Type: Indicates whether the operating mode is Infrastructure or Ad-Hoc.
