2.10 Removable components You may need to remove previously installed system components when installing or removing system devices, or when you need to replace defective components. This section tells how to remove the following components: 1. System fan 2. HDD blower (optional) 3. SATA/SAS backplane 4. Floppy disk drive module 5. Front I/O board 6. Chassis footpads and roller wheels 7. Power supply unit 2.10.1 System fan To remove the system fan: 1. Unplug the system fan cable from the FRNT_FAN2 connector on the motherboard. 2. Locate the four screws that secure the fan to the chassis. 3. Remove the four screws while carefully supporting the system fan with your free hand to prevent it from falling off.
