Check the SCSI IDs of all SCSI devices connected to the system and set a unique SCSI ID for the scanner. The terminator is not set correctly. Connect a terminator to the SCSI device that is at the end of the SCSI daisy chain. If the SCSI device has a built-in terminator function, enable the terminator. The PC was turned on before the scanner. Shut down both the PC and the scanner, and then turn the scanner back on, followed by the PC. The scanner is not on. Refer to the previous section, "The scanner does not turn on," and check to see if the scanner is on. If the scanner is not on, shut down the PC, then turn the scanner on first, and then the PC. The SCSI host adapter is not compatible with the scanner. Use a SCSI host adapter that is compatible with the scanner driver and your application software. In Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP, the ASPI manager has not been installed correctly.
