Shooting - The Basics Using the Mode Dial (Image Zone) Settings fitting the shooting conditions of your subject can easily be set using the mode dial. Portrait Movie Use this mode to shoot movie clips. Shooting and sound recording starts simultaneously (p. 55). Stitch Assist Special Scene Use this mode when you want the subject to appear sharp and the background to blur. Use this mode when taking shots that you want to combine into a panorama (p. 48). Select from 6 scene modes to shoot with the most appropriate settings for the scene (p. 51). Landscape Night Scene Fast Shutter Slow Shutter Use this mode to shoot spacious landscape scenes. 38 Use this mode to capture human subjects against the backdrop of an evening sky or night scene. The subject is illuminated with light from the flash while the backdrop is captured at a slow shutter speed. Use this mode to shoot fast moving objects. Using the Mode Dial (Image Zone)
Settings fitting the shooting conditions of your subject can easily be set using the mode dial.
Fast Shutter
Use this mode to shoot
fast moving objects.
Landscape
Use this mode to shoot
spacious landscape
scenes.
Night Scene
Use this mode to capture human
subjects against the backdrop of
an evening sky or night scene.
The subject is illuminated with
light from the flash while the
backdrop is captured at a slow
shutter speed.
