Table 35. System setup options-Security menu (continued) Security Default: ON PPI Bypass for Clear Commands Enables or disables the Trusted Platform Model (TPM) Physical Presence Interface (PPI). When enabled, the OS will skip BIOS Physical Presence Interface (PPI) user prompts when issuing the Clear command. Default: OFF Clear Enables or disables the computer to clear the PTT owner information, and returns the PTT to the default state. Default: OFF SMM Security Mitigation Enable or disable additional UEFI SMM Security Mitigation protections. By default, the option is enabled. Data Wipe on Next Boot Start Data Wipe Enable or disable the data wipe on next boot. By default, the Start Data Wipe option is disabled. WARNING: The Secure Wipe Operation will delete information in a way that it cannot be reconstructed. Absolute Enable or disable or permanently disable the BIOS module interface of the optional Absolute Persistence Module service from Absolute software. By default, the option Enable Absolute option is selected. WARNING: The 'Permanently Disabled' option can only be selected once. When 'Permanently Disabled' is selected, Absolute Persistence cannot be re-enabled. No further changes to the Enable/Disable states are allowed. NOTE: The Enable/Disable options will be unavailable while Computrace is in the activated state. UEFI Boot Path Security Controls whether the system will prompt the user to enter the admin password (if set) when booting to a UEFI boot path device from the One Time Boot menu. By default, the Always Except Internal HDD option is enabled. Authenticated BIOS Interface Enabled Authenticated BIOS Interface Enables or disables the Authenticated BIOS Interface By default, the option is disabled. Clear Certificate Store Enable or disable clearance of all certificates in KMS storage By default, the option is disabled. Legacy Manageability Interface Access Displays the options for the platform administrator to control access via the Legacy Manageability Interface. By default, the Enabled option is selected. Firmware Device Tamper Detection Displays the options for the Firmware Device Tamper Detection feature. By default, the Silent option is selected. Table 36.
